Laryngoscopes - for Intubation and for Examining the Larynx
The laryngoscope is an important medical instrument for ENT and emergency medicine. For example, it is needed in the area of first aid when an unconscious person needs to be intubated. The laryngoscope's spatula, which is equipped with a light guide, presses the tongue down and illuminates the larynx area, including the entrance to the trachea.
A laryngoscopy - the examination of the larynx - is also done with the help of a laryngoscope. We carry laryngoscopes and accessories such as laryngoscope blades or larynx mirrors in different versions. Buy a laryngoscope now! Read on here at the end of this page.

When simple laryngeal mirrors are no longer sufficient, the laryngoscope comes into play. Laryngoscopes are not only used in emergency medicine, but also in daily hospital operations. With every general anesthetic, intubation is also performed with the help of the laryngoscope blade. In addition to various sizes for adults, blades for laryngoscopes in children's sizes are also available. You can find what you need and equip your practice in our online shop. Different Laryngoscopes & Accessories - We Offer You the Choice
Laryngoscope blades are available in different versions that differ in shape and size and, depending on the type, are used for patients of different sizes or ages. Miller, McCoy or Macintosh blades can be changed in an emergency in a few simple steps and attached to the laryngoscope handle.
In the event of intubation during emergency use, emergency doctors or paramedics can always adapt the device to the situation. Transport cases for laryngoscope handles and several blades for laryngoscopes are also part of our range.
You can buy handles, laryngeal mirrors or spatulas for the laryngoscope as well as order complete laryngoscope sets including accessories. Additional accessories such as cases and bags for transport or spare parts such as light guides and chargers can also be purchased separately. Our range includes both battery-operated devices and laryngoscopes with rechargeable batteries. Here at Medicalcorner24® you will find everything you need for a successful intubation.
What are Laryngoscopes Used for?
The invention dates back to 1743 and originally served only to view the vocal fold function. The French obstetrician André Levret built and used a laryngoscope-like set of instruments to study the anatomical function of the voice when singing or speaking.
The laryngoscope is used as an aid in endotracheal intubation to insert the tube through the patient's mouth into the windpipe. The laryngoscope makes it possible to carry out the process under vision and thus ensure that the tube can get through the glottis into the trachea.
Intubation is performed when resuscitation or, as part of anesthesia, rapid and, above all, safe ventilation is required. In order not to injure the patient's mouth and throat, a special technique is required. Buy the right laryngoscope and practice intubation with the right technique!
Composition of a Laryngoscope
In order to illuminate the larynx during the treatment, the spatula tip is equipped with a light. This version of the laryngoscope is also known as the warm light version. Batteries or rechargeable batteries are located in the battery handle of the laryngoscope and thus serve as a power source.
Alternatively, there are also devices without an integrated lamp, in which case a headlamp of the treating doctor serves as a light source. The matt steel surface enables glare-free working. In addition, with the cold light version, the light source can also be integrated in the handle and guided into the tip of the spatula with a fiber optic cable.
The laryngoscope, also called the larynx mirror, consists of a round mirror and a thin metal handle. The mirror is curved at a certain angle so that viewing the mouth and throat area and the larynx is possible without great effort.
